The delegation included the Vice President of the Council, Mrs. Rasha Abou Ghazale, Board Member Dr. Youssef Doughan, and Financial Controller General Mr. Yasser Dhebyan.
During the meeting, the President of the Council of the South presented to His Excellency President General Joseph Aoun the fifth volume of the "White Hands" publication series, which documents the most prominent works and projects implemented by the Council between 2019 and 2025 across the South, Western Beqaa, and Rashaya.
Mr. Haidar reviewed before His Excellency the President the Council’s key operational milestones, particularly the efforts made to face the repercussions of the Israeli aggressions that began on October 8, 2023, and the resulting widespread damage and displacement of large numbers of citizens.
He also addressed the role played by the Council of the South in accompanying local residents and displaced individuals during that phase, leading up to the launch of a broad rehabilitation and reconstruction workshop following the ceasefire, with the goal of reactivating public facilities and restoring basic services in the affected areas.
The President of the Council of the South emphasized that these projects fall within the framework of the national and developmental responsibility undertaken by the Council, aimed at supporting the resilience of the local residents, reinforcing stability, and contributing to bringing life back to the damaged regions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Haidar stressed that what the Council of the South has achieved, despite its significance, remains part of its duty toward the people of the South, Western Beqaa, and Rashaya, who have made great sacrifices to preserve their land and remain steadfast, affirming the Council's continued commitment to performing its developmental and national role and serving the citizens. He added that it carries out its work with complete transparency and integrity, within legal frameworks.
